Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg-Tele Float RN for a Level II Trauma Center, requiring an active MO or compact RN license and 2 years of nursing experience.

Details

  • Float position covering Med/Surg, MS/Tele, Telemetry, and Orthopedics units
  • Works in a Level II Trauma Center and Level II Stroke Center setting
  • Night shift schedule: 3x12 hours, 1900-0700
  • Uses Epic charting system
  • Patient population includes cardiovascular, orthopedic, neurological, and general med/surg cases

Requirements

  • Active RN license (MO State or Compact) required, pending license accepted if active and in-hand prior to start
  • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
  • BSN preferred
  • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, CPI, NIHSS, and Tele/EKG exam
  • Epic charting experience preferred
  • Previous travel experience preferred
  • Skilled in IV therapy, central line and PICC management, blood product administration, and telemetry monitoring
  • Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, and tracheostomy management preferred
  • Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and rapid response/code team protocols
  • Two professional references required for consideration
  • Copy of driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Provide nursing care across multiple float units including Med/Surg, Tele, and Orthopedics
  • Facility offers more than 60 hospital and area clinics providing urgent, primary, specialty, and emergency care
  • Only tertiary hospital between Kansas City and Omaha
  • Free parking provided
  • Local candidates accepted at a reduced pay rate
  • Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel pay rate
  • Previous employees must be separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
  • RTO must be submitted at time of application
  • Module orientation (up to 4 hours) completed through MyPath during orientation
