Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele Float position requiring a VA or compact RN license and recent specialty experience.

Details

• MS/Tele float pool covering Med/Surg, MS/Tele, and Orthopedics units
• Patient population includes ortho trauma, total joint replacement, and cardiac/neurological cases
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
• Every other weekend required
• Floating may be requested based on facility needs
• Uses EPIC charting system

Requirements

• Active VA RN license or compact license required in hand at time of consideration
• Current certifications: BLS, NIHSS, with ACLS preferred
• AHA-issued ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Specialty experience within the last year required
• EPIC charting experience required
• NIH and stroke education required
• Skills in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management required
• Neurological/psychiatric and CVA experience required, with CVA skills preferred

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care across Med/Surg, telemetry, and orthopedic patient populations, including ortho trauma and total joint replacement cases
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
• Keep requested time off to a minimum, ideally no full calendar weeks off and no more than 7 days total during the assignment
• All time off requests must be submitted upfront and approved before confirmation, with no additional requests after an offer is made
• Previous permanent employees must have a gap of at least 6 months before being eligible for a travel assignment
• Candidates cannot work both travel and per diem contracts at this facility simultaneously
• First-time travelers are not preferred for this position
