Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg Float Pool position requiring VA or compact RN licensure and recent MS/Tele specialty experience.

Details

• MS/Tele float pool covering Med/Surg, Orthopedics, and Ortho Trauma units
• Patient population includes neurological/psychiatric, CVA, and cardiac monitoring cases
• 1:6 patient ratio
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
• Every other weekend required
• Floating may be requested based on facility needs
• Epic charting system preferred

Requirements

• Active VA RN license or compact license in hand required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Specialty experience within the last year required for all units
• Current certifications: BLS and NIHSS required, ACLS preferred
• AHA-issued ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications required
• NIH Stroke Scale and stroke education required
• Skilled in cardiac dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Experience with CVA (Cerebrovascular Accident) preferred
• Experience in total joint replacement preferred
• Epic EMR experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care across Med/Surg, MS/Tele, and Orthopedics units with cardiac monitoring and emergency response duties
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Prior permanent employees must have a 6-month gap before returning as a travel candidate
• RTO should be minimized, with no more than 7 days total requested during the assignment and no calendar week off preferred
• All RTO requests must be submitted at the time of initial submission
• First-time travelers are not considered for this position
