Travel RN Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,750–$1,840
- Assignment Type: 13-week travel nursing assignment

- Schedule: 3 shifts per week; 36 hours per week
- Shift: 12-hour nights, approximately 6:45 p.m.–7:15 a.m.
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Patient Population: Adult and geriatric patients
- Typical Ratios: Approximately 1 nurse to 5–6 patients
- Electronic Medical Record: Epic
- Float Expectations: Resource-pool nurses may float among medical-surgical and telemetry units as needed
- Orientation: Approximately 16–20 hours
Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license; pending licensure may be considered with completion before the start date
- At least 2 years of recent medical-surgical and/or telemetry nursing experience
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Experience caring for adult and geriatric patients in an acute-care hospital setting
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias
- Proficiency with central-line care, peripheral IV management, and starting and maintaining IVs
- Knowledge of oxygen administration, nasal cannula therapy, isolation precautions, cerebrovascular accident (CVA) care, and renal-failure management
- Ability to float between medical-surgical and telemetry units
- Current required immunizations or approved exemptions in accordance with assignment policy
Medical-Surgical and Telemetry RN Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to adult and geriatric medical-surgical and telemetry patients
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, develop and implement individualized care plans, and evaluate outcomes
- Monitor cardiac rhythms, recognize changes in patient condition, and escalate concerns promptly
- Administer medications and treatments while following established patient-safety protocols
- Perform central-line and peripheral-line care, IV therapy, oxygen administration, and related bedside nursing procedures
- Manage patients with varied diagnoses, including cerebrovascular accidents and renal failure
- Maintain accurate nursing documentation in Epic
- Collaborate with respiratory therapy, pharmacy, radiology, rehabilitation, social services, rapid response teams, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team
- Float to assigned medical-surgical and telemetry units based on patient-care needs
- Support a positive patient experience through clear communication with patients, families, and the healthcare team
