Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Float Pool night shift position requiring an active SC or compact RN license and 2 years of MS/Tele experience.

Details

• MS/Tele Float unit within a hospital setting, floating to other MS/Tele units as needed
• Adult patient population with medical, surgical, and cardiac diagnoses
• Continuous telemetry monitoring performed on the unit
• Patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:6, flexing up to 1:7 when necessary
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Self-scheduling and blocked scheduling available
• Uses Cerner EMR

Requirements

• Active SC RN license or compact license required in hand
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of MS/Tele experience required
• Community hospital experience required
• Teaching hospital and PCU/Step Down experience preferred
• Primary IV skills required, including starting and maintaining IVs
• Travel experience required; first-time travelers not accepted for this float position

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care to medical, surgical, and cardiac patients while floating between MS/Tele units
• RT covers specialty IV needs; RN maintains primary IV responsibilities
• Black scrubs required
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate as travelers
• No radius restriction for candidates
• Previous employees must have a 12-month gap since their last assignment before reapplying
• Minimal RTO preferred, especially around holidays; a single holiday request may be considered
