MRI Technologist - Day Shift - 12 x 3

Job Description

The MRI Technologist independently performs imaging procedures, competently executing a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative for diagnostic purposes.

Responsibilities

• Practices and maintains MR safety in the department.
• Maintains clinical competency for all exams and equipment.
• Performs procedures for reviewing, processing, and archiving.
• Prior to starting an exam, reads and presents all relevant information to the physician based on protocol.
• Identifies all patients properly using two patient identifiers and utilizes universal protocol when performing procedures.
• Reviews patient history and assesses physician orders, applying specific departmental protocols for optimal data acquisition.
• Documents patient history in electronic records as required.
• Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills with both patients and co-workers, displaying a high level of caring, listening, dignity, and respect.
• Works collaboratively with other departments to expedite patient care efficiently.
• Communicates instructions to patients clearly, explaining procedures to ease patient concerns and solicit cooperation.
• Ensures all exams are properly coded and tracked, patient information is updated and documented, and charges are adequately entered for the performed exams.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology or completion of an accredited CNMT, ARMRIT, or ARDMS program with MR registry.
• MR registry must be acquired within 18 months of obtaining the primary registry or date of hire if the primary registry is already obtained.
• Experienced candidates with 2 years of relevant experience are required.
• Licensure: ARRT Certificate, ARMRIT, NMTC, or ARDMS certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Compliance with PA Acts 31, 33, 34, and 73.

Schedule

This position operates on a Day Shift schedule of 12 hours for 3 days a week, totaling a guaranteed 12 hours per week.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
