Job Summary:
The MRI Technologist position is located in a healthcare facility where the professional will independently perform magnetic resonance imaging procedures. The role involves executing a variety of technical procedures requiring judgment, ingenuity, and initiative to support diagnostic objectives. The MRI Technologist maintains safety protocols, clinical competency, and effective communication with patients and staff.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Day shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Graduation from an ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) approved school of Radiologic Technology, or completion of an accredited CNMT (Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist), ARMRIT (American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists), or ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography) program with MR (Magnetic Resonance) registry. MR registry must be acquired within 18 months of the primary registry or date of hire if already obtained. CNMT, ARDMS, and ARMRIT graduates must obtain MR registry within 12 months of hire date. A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience is required. Certifications include ARRT Certificate, ARMRIT, NMTC (Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification), or ARDMS. Additional certifications include BLS (Basic Life Support) and Pennsylvania Act 31, 33, 34, 73.
- Additional Information: The role requires the ability to read and interpret physician orders, prepare and administer contrast agents, document patient information, and ensure proper coding and archiving of exams. A strong interpersonal skill set is essential for effectively communicating with patients and team members. The position involves performing procedures according to departmental protocols while adhering to safety standards and maintaining clinical competency.
