Description

Job Title: MRI Technologist Profession: MRI Technologist Specialty: - Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Monday to Friday Hours per Shift: 8:00 am - 4:00 pm Experience: Minimum two years' experience in MRI preferred License: Client License (L.R.T.) Certifications: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT Certified), BLS certification Must-Have: - Strong background in cross-sectional anatomy, physical sciences, and MRI physics - Excellent technical skills - Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and physiology Description: This position operates and prepares specialized equipment to perform magnetic imaging procedures. Applies the necessary technical judgment to obtain studies of acceptable diagnostic quality according to written protocols and patient needs. Performs MRI imaging procedures. Positions patients and associated coils to obtain optimum study. Provides patient education relevant to specific imaging procedures by informing the patient of the nature of the procedure and any specific instructions needed. Reviews all patient safety questionnaires prior to introducing any patients into the MRI scan room. Ensures all MRI images are labeled as specified by department SOP. Evaluates images for technical acceptability and ensures images are transmitted to PACS in a timely fashion. Ensures that all studies performed are completed in the Radiology Information System in a timely manner. Ensures Radiology room and equipment cleanliness at the start and end of the shift, including removal of soiled linen. Scans patient-related documents. Maintains supplies and accessories in the radiographic room necessary to perform duties safely. Accurately records all required patient tracking information into the Radiology Information System. Schedules exams into the Radiology Information System as required. Informs supervisor or appropriate personnel of needed repairs to equipment or unsafe conditions. Assists physicians directly as required. Calls for in-patients as needed. Performs related clerical duties in the absence of support personnel. Maintains safety standards via strict adherence to safety guidelines to prevent the introduction of ferromagnetic material into the scan room. Protects self, patients, and employees by adhering to infection control policies and protocols. Attends in-services and other professional development meetings as required. Maintains good standing licensure specific to the job. Performs other relevant duties as assigned.
