Overview

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to provide compassionate, high-quality care in a Mother-Baby, Postpartum, and Couplet Care setting. This travel RN job is ideal for a nurse who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys family-centered care, and has the confidence to support a high-risk postpartum population as well as newborns who do not require NICU-level care.

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,980 - $2,080

• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Night shift, 4 shifts per week
• Shift Duration: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:30)
• Schedule: Self-scheduling with weekend coverage required
• Call: Required per unit needs
• Orientation: 72 hours
• Charting System: Epic
• Patient Ratios: Typical ratios of 1:3 couplets, up to 6 patients on nights/weekends
• Work Setting: Mother-Baby / Postpartum / Couplet Care

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license, state or compact
• Minimum of 1 year of specialty experience in Mother-Baby, Postpartum Nursing, or Couplet Care
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Current BLS and NRP certifications required
• Experience with Epic preferred
• Antepartum experience with fetal monitoring preferred for floating within scope
• Ability to care for high-risk postpartum patients and newborns who do not require NICU-level care
• Comfort working in a collaborative, fast-paced healthcare environment

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional postpartum and couplet care to mothers and newborns
• Complete newborn assessments, postpartum assessments, and ongoing monitoring
• Support breastfeeding education, newborn feeding, and family teaching
• Care for patients with complex needs, including magnesium, insulin, and heparin therapies as assigned
• Assist with phototherapy, newborn hypoglycemia care, thermoregulation, and discharge preparation
• Deliver patient and parent education on newborn care, circumcision care, breastfeeding, and recovery
• Float within scope as needed, including antepartum support with fetal monitoring experience
• Maintain accurate documentation in Epic and collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams
• Promote a safe, supportive, and family-centered experience for every patient
