Description

American Traveler is hiring a Medical ICU RN for a night shift contract requiring EKG tele competency and EPIC charting experience.

Details

• 40-bed, fast-paced, high acuity Medical ICU setting
• Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours, 19:00-7:30
• 13 or 18 week winter contract options available
• Targeted patient ratios of 1:2-3
• Bedside procedures include Endoscopy, Bronchoscopy, Trach, and G-Tube placement
• Frequently recovers patients immediately post-op
• Uses specialized equipment including ICP monitoring, arterial lines, Flotrac monitoring, BIS, and train of four
• EPIC charting experience required
• Floating required at facility discretion, including to high-risk respiratory/COVID units and nearby campuses within 10-15 miles
• Must be available to work every other weekend and every other holiday

Requirements

• Active OH RN license or compact license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1.5 years of experience in a large hospital setting; Level 1 trauma preferred, Level 2 accepted
• Must pass an online EKG telemetry competency assessment prior to starting
• Must be able to read and interpret EKG/dysrhythmia strips
• EPIC charting experience required
• Skilled in trach care and interpretation
• Must complete N95 fit testing prior to working on the HRRU unit unless PAPR is needed
• Travel experience preferred but not required

Additional Information

• Provide high-acuity critical care nursing to MICU patients, including post-procedural and post-op recovery
• Facility may cancel up to 2 shifts per 13-week contract due to low census
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Maximum RTO of 14 days per contract; must be requested at time of application and cannot be added after offer
• Must live within a 50-mile radius; local candidates are not accepted
• Previous Premier Health perm/PRN staff or agency travelers not extended due to tenure must wait 6 months before reapplying
• First-time travelers may be considered
