  • Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,020 - $2,130
  • Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
  • Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
  • Charting System: EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR)
  • Unit Size: 13 beds
  • Orientation: EPIC training, educator support, unit shadowing, and preceptor time
  • Scheduling Notes: Weekend and holiday coverage required
  • Float Expectations: May float to lower levels of care as needed

Job Requirements

  • Active Illinois RN license or confirmation that the application process has been initiated
  • Minimum of 1 year of ICU nursing or critical care experience
  • Level I trauma experience preferred
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications
  • Experience titrating drips such as pressors, sedation, paralytics, and insulin
  • Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips independently
  • Comfort working in a high-acuity Surgical ICU environment
  • Negative drug screen required prior to start

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert nursing care for post-surgical, multi-system trauma, open abdomen, and endovascular patients
  • Monitor and manage critically ill patients with varying acuity levels and nurse-to-patient ratios
  • Titrate and manage IV infusions according to patient needs and provider orders
  • Collaborate with intensivists, charge nurses, respiratory therapy, and support staff to deliver safe, coordinated patient care
  • Assess, document, and communicate changes in patient condition promptly and accurately
  • Support safe patient movement across care levels when floating to stepdown or general med-surg units
  • Maintain strong clinical judgment while working in a fast-paced ICU environment
