Travel ICU RN Job Details

- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,020 - $2,130
- Schedule Notes: Weekend coverage required, with every other holiday rotation
- Charting System: EPIC
- Floating: May float to lower levels of care as needed
Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois or confirmation that the license application process has been initiated
- At least 1 year of ICU experience required
- Surgical ICU, critical care, or trauma nursing experience strongly preferred
- Level I trauma experience strongly preferred
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Ability to titrate drips and manage complex ICU medications
- Experience with high-acuity patients and critical care monitoring
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced surgical ICU environment
- Ability to provide required submission information, including requested time off and identifying details for credentialing
Responsibilities
- Provide expert nursing care for post-surgical, trauma, and complex ICU patients
- Monitor and manage patients with open abdomens, multisystem trauma, and endovascular conditions
- Titrate pressors, sedation, paralytics, and insulin drips according to patient needs and protocols
- Assess, interpret, and respond to cardiac rhythms and telemetry strips
- Collaborate with intensivists, respiratory therapy, charge nurses, and support staff
- Deliver safe, compassionate care while maintaining excellent clinical documentation in EPIC
- Adapt to floating assignments when needed and provide full-team support in lower-acuity units
- Participate in orientation and quickly integrate into the unit workflow
