Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Medical Intensive Care Unit – Everett, WA 98201

Start Date: October 5, 2026

Location: Everett, Washington

Schedule: 3x12-hour day shifts (06:30 - 19:00), weekends required, 60 guaranteed hours per 2-week period

Highlights:

  • High-acuity Medical Intensive Care Unit at a Level II Trauma Center with 571 total beds
  • Care for medically complex, critically ill patients including respiratory failure, cardiac arrest with TTM, multisystem organ failure, shock states, CVA post-TPA, ARDS, and DKA
  • Standard 2:1 nurse-to-patient ratio with CNA support on each shift
  • Exposure to advanced procedures including bedside central and arterial line placements, chest tube placement, rapid sequence intubation, and code blue responses
  • Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and physical therapy
  • EPIC charting system with facility-paid parking

Requirements:

  • Active Compact RN license (must be in hand at submission)
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required; travel nursing experience required
  • Level II Trauma Center experience required
  • Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, plus 2 hours of stroke-specific education annually
  • EPIC charting experience required
  • Experience with 2:1 patient ratios in critical care settings
  • Proficiency in ventilator management, vasoactive drip titration, arterial line management, central line care, blood product administration, and continuous IV sedation
  • First-time travelers not accepted; local candidates within 50-mile radius not accepted at standard rates
  • Must be willing to float to telemetry units if census requires
  • Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
  • Two references covering 1 year within the last 3 years required
