GLC On-The-Go is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg / Telemetry for a travel nursing job in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
Join a leading acute-care hospital as a MedSurg/Telemetry RN in Winston-Salem, NC. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a friendly, academic medical center environment with a strong focus on patient care and support. As part of a dedicated team, you will provide high-quality nursing care to patients with various medical conditions.
Unit Information: 4A consists of 8 beds with an average patient census of 8. The patient population includes general medical cases, as well as cardiac conditions, pneumonia, UTIs, chest pain, and fluid overload. The RN to patient ratio is 1:4, with support from CNAs at a ratio of 1:8.
Required Licensure & Certifications: - BLS - ACLS - NIHSS
Skills Required: - PCA - Surgical drains - Wound care - Telemetry – cardiac rhythm interpretation - Experience with Cardizem/Amiodarone gtt (will accept without but must be comfortable to learn)
Support within the Department: - CNAs assist RNs with vital signs, blood glucose checks, safety rounds, and ADLs. - Receptionist/HUC support - Charge Nurse available for assistance, though may have full assignments occasionally - Peripheral blood draws by phlebotomy - RNs start their own IVs; RT available 24/7 - Hospitalist and Intensivist available 24/7 - Telemetry monitoring/tech on the unit, with RNs responsible for reading/interpreting strips during shifts
Technology/Equipment: - EMR: Epic - IV Pump: Alaris - Med dispensing: Omnicell - Unit specific equipment: PCAs, trachs, complex wound care
Floating: Possible floating to Rehab, 4 Ardmore, 10 Reynolds, 9 Reynolds, 5 Ardmore, Burn-10 North, and Throughput Unit.
Orientation: - NEO - 2 days departmental
