Join a leading acute-care hospital as a MedSurg/Telemetry RN in Concord, NC! We are seeking dedicated and skilled Registered Nurses to provide exceptional patient care in a dynamic environment. This contract position offers the opportunity to work in a supportive team culture while enhancing your nursing skills.

Department Information:

  • Average Daily Census: 8 patients
  • Minimum Years of Experience Required: 18 months of Med/Tele RN experience
  • Patient Types/Common Diagnoses: Chest Pain, Syncope, Angina

Required Licenses and Certifications:

  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • NIHSS (Resource Team requirement)

Ratios:

  • RN: 1:5
  • CNA: 1:10

Skills Required:

  • General Med/Tele skillset: Stroke experience, cardiac rhythm interpretation, trach care, PIV starts, chest tube management, NGT placement, drain/tube management (Dobhoff, PEG tubes, Hemovac, JP drains, flexiseals, foley insertion/management, etc.), PCA pumps
  • Medication gtt management to include: Cardiac drips, Heparin, blood products, IVF

Support within the Department:

  • Supervisor
  • Charge RN – may or may not have patients
  • Resource RN – will assist with Admissions/Discharges
  • RT, 24/7 – not dedicated to this unit specifically
  • Hospitalist, 24/7 - not dedicated to this unit specifically
  • Phlebotomy: Combined effort between RNs, IV team

Technology/Equipment:

  • EMR: EPIC
  • IV Pumps: Alaris
  • Med Dispensing: Omnicell

Floating:

Travel nurses will be the first to float to other nursing units and provide flexible staffing support based on patient care needs and staffing demands. They will demonstrate adaptability and clinical flexibility when floating to other units and will take patients within the scope of practice on any unit (e.g. MedSurg assignment in ICU, MedSurg holds in ED, etc.). Floating may be required per regional needs.

Orientation:

  • NEO
  • 2 days departmental

Scheduling:

  • Weekend rotation: every other
  • Holiday Expectations: Travelers will work 75% of holidays
  • RTO: Can approve up to 6 days off, excluding holidays – must add time to the end of the contract if unable to meet contracted hours
  • Shift times: 0650-1910; 1850-0710
  • Schedule cycle: every 6 weeks
