Join our team as a MedSurg/Telemetry RN at a leading acute-care hospital in Concord, NC! We are seeking dedicated and experienced registered nurses to provide exceptional patient care in a supportive environment. Our facility is recognized for its commitment to excellence, featuring a Trauma Level III designation and various Centers of Excellence.

Department Information:

  • Beds: 10 with an average daily census of 8 patients
  • Minimum of 18 months of Med/Tele RN experience required
  • First-time travelers are not preferred but may be considered

Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:

  • Chest Pain, Syncope, Angina

Required Licenses and Certifications:

  • BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (Resource Team requirement)

Ratios:

  • RN: 1:5
  • CNA: 1:10

Skills Required:

  • General Med/Tele skillset, including stroke experience and cardiac rhythm interpretation
  • Trach care, PIV starts, chest tube management, NGT placement, drain/tube management
  • Medication gtt management including cardiac drips, Heparin, blood products, IVF

Support within the Department:

  • Supervisor
  • Charge RN (may or may not have patients)
  • Resource RN (assists with admissions/discharges)
  • RT and Hospitalist available 24/7 (not dedicated to this unit)
  • Phlebotomy: Combined effort between RNs and IV team

Technology/Equipment:

  • EMR: EPIC
  • IV Pumps: Alaris
  • Med Dispensing: Omnicell

Floating:

Travel nurses will be the first to float to other nursing units and provide flexible staffing support based on patient care needs. They will demonstrate adaptability and clinical flexibility when floating to other units and will take patients within their scope of practice on any unit. Floating may be required to multiple facilities within the region as needed.

Orientation:

  • NEO
  • 2 days departmental orientation

Scheduling:

  • Weekend rotation: every other
  • Holiday Expectations: Travelers will work 75% of holidays
  • RTO: Up to 6 days off can be approved, excluding holidays (must add time to the end of the contract if unable to meet contracted hours)
  • Shift times: 0650-1910; 1850-0710
  • Schedule cycle: every 6 weeks
