Job Opportunity – Clinical Lab Scientist – Eureka, CA 95501
Start Date: November 16, 2026
Location: Eureka, California
Schedule: Night shift, 5x8-hour shifts (04:00 - 12:00). Weekend coverage varies to meet department needs. Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day).
Highlights:- 13-week travel assignment at a fast-paced Trauma Level III facility with open heart and cath lab capabilities
- Generalist role covering hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, chemistry, serology, and limited microbiology
- Recent blood bank experience required for second assignment opportunities
- Work with diverse patient populations including neonates, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics
- Epic charting system experience required
- Float coverage includes Observation Unit for ER hold patients
Requirements:- Active California Clinical Lab Scientist (CLS) license required at time of submission (hard stop requirement)
- ASCP-MLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of clinical laboratory experience
- Recent blood bank experience strongly preferred
- Community hospital experience required; Trauma Level II experience preferred
- Proficiency with automated analyzers including Siemens Dimensions and Sysmex XM
- Epic charting system experience required
- First-time travelers accepted
- Two professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
