Job Opportunity – Histology Technician – Santa Rosa, CA 95405

Start Date: December 14, 2026

Location: Santa Rosa, California

Schedule: Night shift, Sunday through Thursday, 4:00 PM to 12:30 AM (5x8-hour shifts). 40 hours of orientation provided. Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day).

Highlights:
  • Travel assignment at an acute care facility with a 13-week duration
  • Work with routine hospital anatomical pathology specimens in a collaborative environment with phlebotomy and radiology support
  • Comprehensive histology work including grossing, embedding, microtomy, and staining (automated IHC and special stains)
  • Opportunity to utilize cytology skills including thin prep, cell block, cytospin, and gynecological specimens
  • Professional dress code: scrubs or business casual
  • First-time travelers with strong experience (10+ years) are welcome to apply
Requirements:
  • ASCP-HT certification required
  • Associate's Degree in Science required
  • Minimum 2 years of histology experience required
  • Hospital experience required (hardstop)
  • Grossing experience required (hardstop)
  • California state license preferred; pending license accepted
  • Epic charting system experience preferred
  • Proficiency in histology techniques including tissue processing, microtomy, H&E staining, special stains, IHC, frozen sections, and embedding procedures
  • Two professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
