Job Summary
Medical Surgical With Telemetry Night-shift position supporting comprehensive medical-surgical care for a diverse patient population. The role requires adaptable clinicians who contribute to a collaborative care environment and support quality patient outcomes across assigned campuses.
Job Details
- Schedule: Night shifts are 12 hours with a minimum of 48 hours per week. Weekend coverage occurs every other weekend or every third weekend, depending on staffing and census. No on-call requirement.
- Required Qualifications: At least 24 months of current medical-surgical or medical-surgical telemetry experience; completion of at least one travel contract within the previous 18 months; active Iowa or compact/multistate nursing license at submission; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross; proficiency caring for varied medical-surgical patient types; electronic medical record experience with EPIC; heparin experience; recent charge or preceptor experience; and telemetry or cardiac care skills.
- Preferred Qualifications: Recent performance evaluation or professional reference from a charge clinician, supervisor, nurse manager, director, chief nursing officer, chief operating officer, or equivalent leader within the previous 24 months.
- Float: Float rotation may be required.
- Additional Information: The assignment supports a 15-bed unit with typical patient ratios of 45 patients per clinician, remote telemetry monitoring, and navy blue solid scrubs. Cross-campus floating may be required.
