Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical Surgical/Telemetry position requiring 2+ years of experience and a WV or Compact RN license.

Details

• 34-bed Medical Surgical unit with telemetry monitoring
• Patient ratios of 1:5-7
• Night shift, 4x12 or 3x12 hours (19:00-07:30), including weekdays and weekends (3 per 4-week schedule)
• Uses Cerner EMR
• 13-week contract with possible extension
• No scrubs provided

Requirements

• Active WV or Compact RN license (pending license accepted for submission)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required (BLS and ACLS must be through AHA)
• Cerner EMR experience
• Skills in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tube management, HFNC, and ABG interpretation preferred
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and central/peripheral line care
• Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation experience
• Pre/post cardiac cath and pre/post hemodialysis management experience preferred
• Wound care/wound vac experience
• Minimum of 2 Manager and/or Charge Nurse references from the past 2 years required

Additional Information

• Provide medical-surgical and telemetry nursing care including cardiac monitoring, respiratory support, and wound care
• Facility maintains a strict attendance policy, tolerating only 2-3 call-offs per contract
• Candidates must have a permanent address more than 100 miles from the facility; those between 75-100 miles may be considered case-by-case at the same rate
• Former permanent employees must wait 2 years from their last date of permanent employment before returning as a traveler
• Current employees (perm, PRN, etc.) of the associated health system are not eligible for travel contracts within that system
• Non-billable EMR training modules required prior to start date, averaging 8 hours to complete
• Orientation held every other Monday
