Job Summary:
Medical Surgical with Telemetry (MS TELE) registered nurse position in a healthcare facility. The role involves providing direct patient care in a medical-surgical inpatient setting, with telemetry monitoring responsibilities, supporting patients with diverse diagnoses including orthopedic trauma, vascular, urology, neuro-spine, oncology, and general acute medical conditions.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts with start times at 0700, 1100, or 2300 hours; minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license; BLS (AHA); 0 years of experience; local candidates within 80 miles of the facility preferred.
- Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience in medical-surgical or telemetry units is advantageous.
- Float: Float rotation may be required to other adult medical-surgical nursing units.
- Additional Information:
- Patient ratios are approximately 1:4-5 during day shifts and 1:5-6 during night shifts.
- Typical patient diagnoses include orthopedic trauma, vascular procedures, urology interventions, neuro-spine surgeries, and oncology cases.
- Nurses must titrate drips such as heparin, nitro, Bivalirudin, Cardizem, and insulin following prescribed nomograms.
- Telemetry techs monitor the telemetry readings 24/7; nurses do not need to read strips.
- Charge nurses and house supervisors are present on all shifts, and staffing includes nursing assistants with specific ratios depending on the shift.
- RT support is available; commonly used equipment includes CPAP, BIPAP, and high-flow oxygen therapy, with no ventilators.
- Scrubs can be any color, provided they are clean and professional.
- Unit/department specific orientation includes one day of computer training and 1-2 days of precepted floor orientation.
- All clinicians must clock in and out at the facility.
- The position begins on 09/28/2026 and ends on 12/28/2026.
