Job Summary
Registered Nurse, Medical-Surgical With Telemetry. The position provides care for medical-surgical patients, including nonacute stroke patients, in an acute care setting. The role requires telemetry monitoring, electronic health record experience, and participation in a collaborative clinical team.
Job Details
- Schedule: Day and night shifts, 12 hours per shift: 7:00 a.m.7:30 p.m. or 7:00 p.m.7:30 a.m.; 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification; registered nurse licensure; minimum of 2 years of medical-surgical nursing experience; telemetry experience; electronic health record experience; ability to validate telemetry strips.
- Float: Float rotation may be required.
- Additional Information: The role supports medical-surgical overflow and nonacute stroke patients. Patient assignments typically range from 4:1 to 5:1. Responsibilities may include validating centralized telemetry strips, managing insulin and pain medication infusions, and caring for patients requiring bilevel positive airway pressure and high-flow oxygen therapy. Weekend coverage is scheduled every other weekend, with one winter holiday and one summer holiday. Standby coverage may be assigned.
