Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring strong telemetry and rapid response experience with a 1:6 patient ratio.

Details

  • Mixed unit high acuity setting covering MS/Tele, Cardiac Tele, and PCU
  • Day shift, 4x12 hours, 7:00-19:00
  • 1:6 patient ratio required
  • Every other weekend required
  • Floating required within scope
  • No block scheduling permitted
  • Charting via Meditech
  • Mandatory 5-shift clinical orientation week (36-40 hours) required

Requirements

  • Active FL or compact RN license required
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in specialty required
  • 1:6 patient ratio experience required (1:5 may be considered if clearly documented)
  • Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
  • Strong telemetry experience required
  • Rapid Response team experience required
  • Total joint replacement experience required
  • Meditech charting experience required
  • Community hospital experience preferred

Additional Information

  • Care for a high acuity mixed patient population including cardiac telemetry, PCU, and general med/surg cases
  • Scrub color is unrestricted
  • Free parking available in unrestricted spaces
  • No RTO permitted during the first or last week of the assignment
  • Holiday coverage required per facility restrictions, potentially including working an eve shift (12/24 or 12/31) and 1-2 holiday shifts depending on how many holidays fall within the assignment
  • Candidates must reside more than 30 miles from the facility to qualify as a traveler
  • First-time travelers are not accepted for this role
  • Approximately 4 hours of training modules must be completed prior to start date
