Job Summary
Registered Nurse, Medical-Surgical With Telemetry, Long Beach. This position provides care to adult and geriatric patients in a medical-surgical telemetry setting during night shifts. The role includes telemetry monitoring, coordination of interdisciplinary care, and floating to medical-surgical and emergency department holding areas as needed.
Job Details
- Schedule: Night shift, 12-hour shifts from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., 36 hours per week; every other weekend required. The assignment is scheduled from 11/16/2026 through 02/15/2027.
- Required Qualifications:
- Current California nursing license in hand
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Electrocardiogram (EKG) certification; training provided by the facility
- At least 2 years of nursing experience
- Valid reference from within the past 2 years
- Float: Float rotation may be required.
- Additional Information:
- Patient population includes adults and geriatric patients.
- Typical patient ratio is 1:4.
- Clinical responsibilities include telemetry monitoring, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, central and peripheral line care, peripherally inserted central catheter management, blood product administration, feeding tube care, heparin and intravenous insulin protocols, renal failure management, post-myocardial infarction care, pre- and post-hemodialysis management, procedural sedation monitoring, phlebotomy, wound care, and rapid response or code team participation.
- Electronic medical record documentation is required.
- Self-scheduling is utilized, and on-call coverage is not required.
- Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy.
