Travel RN Job Details

- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,950-$2,050
- Schedule: 40 hours per week
- Shift: 8-hour day shifts; primary schedule is 6:45 AM-3:15 PM, with possible variations including 8:00 AM-4:30 PM, 8:30 AM-5:00 PM, or 10:00 AM-6:30 PM based on department needs
- Healthcare Setting: Outpatient hospital-based infusion room and medical oncology unit
- Location: Mason City, Iowa
Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Iowa
- Medical-surgical, telemetry, oncology, or infusion nursing experience; no minimum years of experience required
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Active ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate Course completion
- Strong patient assessment, medication administration, patient education, and clinical documentation skills
- Ability to work a flexible day-shift schedule and adapt to changing patient-care needs
Travel Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients receiving outpatient oncology and infusion treatments
- Assess patients before, during, and after treatment and promptly communicate changes in condition
- Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, supportive medications, and other prescribed therapies according to established protocols
- Monitor patients for treatment responses, adverse reactions, and complications
- Educate patients and families about treatment plans, medications, symptoms to report, and follow-up care
- Collaborate with providers and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to coordinate safe, efficient patient care
- Maintain accurate clinical records and follow infection prevention, medication safety, and oncology nursing standards
