Job Summary:
Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Medical Surgical with Telemetry is needed for a position located in Alexandria, Louisiana. The role involves providing patient care on a busy 36-bed unit with a focus on trauma, orthopedics, and medical-surgical services. The shift schedule is days, with a 12-hour shift duration, and the assignment is scheduled to start on September 7, 2026.
Job Details:

- Schedule: 36 hours per week minimum
- Required Qualifications: Active Nursing License, ACLS, BLS, plus Med-Surg experience, and must be at least 50 miles from the facility.
- Preferred Qualifications: Prioritization skills, time management skills, team player attitude, and willingness to work as part of a team.
- Unit Information:
- Number of beds: 36
- Staffing: 1 charge nurse, 3 RNs, 3 LPNs, 3 PCTs, 1 secretary per shift
- Patient nurse/patient ratio: 6:1
- Equipment used: IV pumps, Wound Vacs, SCD pumps, Kangaroo Pumps, Chest Tubes, Telemetry, PCA pumps, Bipaps, Epidurals
- EMR: Typical electronic medical record system in use
- Typical Procedures:
- Wound Vac changes
- Wound care
- IV insertions
- Insertion of indwelling Foley catheters
- Personality & Cultural Fit: Willing to work as a team and adaptable to unit policies and procedures.
- Dress Code: Ceil blue scrubs, no sweatshirts, no crocs.
- Schedule: Every other weekend shifts, on-call when census is low.
- Additional Information: Candidate must have ACLS certification prior to submission and must be at least 50 miles from the facility.
