Job Summary
This Medical Surgical with Telemetry (MS TELE) position is located in Madison, WI. It involves providing high-quality, patient-centered care on a fast-paced, 28-bed acute care unit specializing in general internal medicine, geriatrics, and infectious disease management. The role offers challenging and rewarding opportunities for registered nurses with acute care experience to work in a Magnet-designated facility renowned for clinical excellence and education.
Job Details
- Schedule: 12-hour day shifts, between 0700 and 1930, with every other weekend and holidays as needed. Minimum hours per week: 36.0.
- Required Qualifications: Minimum 2.0 years of recent acute care experience in an inpatient setting within the last 3 years, proficiency with Epic electronic charting system, WI RN license or active Compact RN license, BLS certification through the American Heart Association, and successful passing of telemetry assessment prior to start.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with blood product administration, central line care and management, interpretation of dysrhythmias, isolation precautions/PPE, IV insulin protocols, management of dysrhythmias, telemetry, nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration, peripheral line and PICC line care, titration of insulin drips, and rapid response/Code team procedures.
- Additional Information: The unit is home to interdisciplinary teams including IV, physical therapy, respiratory, radiology, social services, pharmacy, and transportation. Candidates must pass strict telemetry screening, including adult and pediatric exams, with up to two attempts. The position requires float flexibility and is not open to local candidates within 50 miles from the facility. Orientation includes 20 hours of training.
