Job Summary:
Medical Surgical with Telemetry (MS Telemetry) nurse position located at an acute care facility. This role involves providing specialized care for patients with various medical and cardiac diagnoses, including post-operative and post-cardiac catheterization patients. The position requires a focus on telemetry monitoring, titration of drips like Heparin and Amiodarone, and collaboration with charge nurses and assistive staff during night shifts.
Job Details:
- Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts (6:30 PM 7:00 AM)
- Schedule: Self-scheduling with balancing by manager. Initial schedule may not be self-scheduled.
- Minimum Hours Per Week: 36 hours
- Start Date: 10/05/2026
- End Date: 01/04/2027
- Required Qualifications: Valid licensure to submit, minimum 2 years of recent acute care inpatient hospital experience, at least 3 years of ICU experience for ICU units, current AHA ACLS and BLS certifications, NIHSS certification, recent EPIC electronic health record experience within the last year, TELE experience required.
- Preferred Qualifications: Teaching facility experience highly preferred.
- Patient Ratios: 1:6, may increase based on staffing and acuity, with CNA support (ratio 1:8-12).
- Common Diagnoses/Patient Types: Post-op CABG, chest pain, arrhythmias, CHF, renal failure, pneumonia, COPD, psych-suicidal ideation, altered mental status, wound care, dialysis, and others.
- Responsibilities: Titrate drips such as Heparin and Amiodarone while interpreting EKG strips; read and interpret telemetry strips; collaborate with charge nurse; participate in unit orientation and documentation in EPIC.
- Additional Information: Compensation for holiday work as per policy; no call or standby requirements; unit assigned via Oracle; scrubs are required to be black; initial orientation includes classroom and preceptor-based training.
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA), NIHSS; at least 2 years of recent acute care experience; recent telemetry experience is mandatory.
