Job Summary:
Medical Surgical with Telemetry (MS TELE) registered nurse position located in an urban healthcare facility. The role involves providing high-acuity patient care within a 41-bed unit specializing in cardiac and renal care. The RN will deliver comprehensive assessments, interpret 12-lead electrocardiograms, initiate and titrate drips, and manage complex patient populations including cardiac arrhythmias, post-cardiac catheterizations, heart failure, COPD, and sepsis. This position offers a 12-hour day shift schedule with guaranteed hours and requires experience working with electronic medical records such as EPIC.

  • Schedule: 12-hour days, 36 hours minimum per week
  • Required Qualifications: Current active compact license, American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS), American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS), 2 years of strong Cardiac or Telemetry experience, at least 1 travel assignment, trauma level II experience, recent EPIC charting experience (checkoff class required)
  • Preferred Qualifications: Resilient, adaptable candidates with strong assessment and critical thinking skills
  • Float: First to float within skillset; cross-campus float to other campuses with 2-hour notice.
  • Additional Information:
    • Contract length: 13 weeks, start date 11/02/2026, end date 01/31/2027
    • Orientation: Bi-weekly, hours not guaranteed during GSA hours or holidays
    • Shift: 12-hour days from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM
    • Weekend/Holiday Coverage: Three weekends every six weeks, every other holiday
    • Patient Population: High-acuity, cardiac-heavy, including arrhythmias, post-ablation care, heart caths without interventions, CHF, COPD, sepsis, dialysis
    • Responsibilities include managing IV drips, chest tube management, PIV insertion, and monitoring complex cardiac cases
    • May be required to mentor students or new hires
