Job Summary
Medical Surgical With Telemetry Libertyville, IL. This position provides nursing care to general progressive care, cardiac, and telemetry patients, including post-cardiac catheterization, congestive heart failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, pneumonia, and basic wound care cases. The role supports a 36-hour workweek on 12-hour night shifts in a Level I trauma center and teaching hospital environment.
Job Details
- Required Qualifications: Registered Nurse certification; Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications; minimum of 2 years of experience; general progressive care, cardiac, and telemetry experience; wound care proficiency; peripheral intravenous catheter placement skills; experience with electronic medical record systems; ability to care for patient ratios of 1:5 on night shifts.
- Schedule: Night shifts consisting of 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week; weekend rotation every other weekend.
- Additional Information: Patient populations include general progressive care, cardiac, and telemetry patients, including post-cardiac catheterization, congestive heart failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, pneumonia, and basic wound care cases. Centralized telemetry monitoring with telemetry technicians, respiratory therapy coverage, hospitalist coverage, phlebotomy support, wound care consultations, and unit support staff are available. The night-shift charge nurse takes a patient assignment. Orientation includes at least one shift to learn unit workflow. Navy blue scrubs are required.
