Job Summary
Registered Nurse, Medical-Surgical With Telemetry. This day-shift position supports patients with neurological and neurosurgical conditions in a telemetry setting. The role includes caring for post-surgical neurology patients, monitoring complex neurological diagnoses, and collaborating with interdisciplinary support services.
Job Details
- Schedule: Day shift, 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week; weekend coverage is required every other weekend.
- Required Qualifications: At least 1 year of nursing experience; valid compact nursing license in hand at submission; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications; experience with neurological nursing, telemetry, and patient assignments of approximately 45 patients.
- Float: Float rotation may be required.
- Additional Information:
- Expected patient ratio is 1:4.
- Responsibilities include management of BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, craniotomy patients, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, neuro stepdown care, pre- and post-neurosurgery care, procedural sedation administration and monitoring, spinal cord injury care, telemetry monitoring, and traumatic brain injury care.
- The unit includes neuroscience, neurology, neurosurgical, and telemetry services.
- Clinical services include a designated stroke unit, thrombectomy capability, a spine center, and a Level 3 epilepsy center.
- Orientation includes 36 hours.
- Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Years Eve, and New Years Day scheduling requirements may apply, with assignment-specific holiday coverage required.
