Job Summary:
The Medical Surgical Telemetry (MS TELE) registered nurse position is based in a healthcare facility environment. The role involves caring for the incarcerated patient population within the forensics unit. The ideal candidate must demonstrate reliability, transparency, and the ability to work weekends and holidays. This position requires adherence to strict clinical protocols and the ability to pass specific skill assessments prior to orientation.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) American Heart Association (AHA), and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) AHA. Must have a minimum of two years of recent experience in a similar healthcare setting within the past three years. Candidate must be able to read telemetry strips, care for the incarcerated population, and be compliant with facility requirements, including clearance 10 days prior to orientation.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with telemetered patients and knowledge of arrhythmia recognition and heparin distribution.
- Additional Information:
- No holiday requests are approved; one holiday off will be granted, selected at random.
- After three callouts, the contract will be terminated.
- Travelers will be tested prior to orientation on arrhythmia readings and heparin distribution; failure to pass will result in contract cancellation.
- Floating within the scope of practice may be required.
- A charge nurse or preceptor may be assigned and will be reflected on the timesheet.
- Orientation is scheduled for M/S, Tele, and M/S Tele (Forensics).
- The facility can cancel one shift every four weeks during the contract period.
