Job Summary
Medical Surgical With Telemetry: This position supports a floating clinical team caring for adult and geriatric patients across emergency department boarding, telemetry, and medical-surgical settings. Responsibilities may include cardiac monitoring, patient coordination, and charge duties on select units.
Job Details
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience.
- Previous charge experience required.
- Experience in the United States required.
- Compact nursing license must be active and available at submission.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required.
- Required charting system experience.
- Experience caring for patient ratios of approximately 1:46, depending on unit acuity.
- Preferred Qualifications: Medical-surgical, telemetry, cardiac step-down, and charge experience are preferred.
- Additional Information: The patient population may include emergency department boarding, telemetry, and medical-surgical patients. The role may include floating to meet operational needs and may involve charge responsibilities such as staffing coordination, bed flow, and general unit coordination. Care is provided primarily to adult and geriatric patients, with support from intravenous therapy teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation services. Weekend coverage is required, and one scheduled orientation period consists of 24 hours.
