Job Summary
Registered Nurse, Medical-Surgical With Telemetry. This position provides care for patients in a rural acute-care setting, including individuals with congestive heart failure, diabetes, pneumonia, chronic kidney disease, and medical-surgical telemetry needs. The role requires strong communication, time-management skills, telemetry interpretation, and collaboration with the care team.
Job Details
- Required Qualifications: At least 2 years of recent medical-surgical telemetry experience; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA); Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification; active nursing license eligible for submission.
- Preferred Qualifications: Previous rural hospital experience.
- Schedule: Night shifts consisting of 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week; every other weekend and holidays required.
- Additional Information: Patient ratios are approximately 56 patients per Registered Nurse. The role includes caring for patients requiring continuous telemetry, reading telemetry strips, and managing heparin infusions. Patients may require continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP), bilevel positive airway pressure (BiPAP), or high-flow oxygen therapy. Scheduling is based on operational needs, and block scheduling cannot be accommodated. Department orientation includes two shadowing or orientation shifts.
