• Schedule: 3 shifts per week; 36 guaranteed hours

• Weekend and Holiday Coverage: Typically every other weekend and every other holiday

• Call Requirement: No on-call requirement

Med/Surg Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license, or confirmation that the application process has been initiated
• At least 1 year of recent medical-surgical nursing experience in an acute-care setting
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
• Ability to provide safe, compassionate patient care in an acute-care environment
• Comfort caring for adult patients with diagnoses including NSTEMI, COPD, pneumonia, sepsis, and acute kidney injury
• Ability to interpret basic telemetry information and complete required rhythm documentation
• Willingness to comply with facility drug-screening and workplace safety requirements

Travel Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult medical-surgical patients during overnight shifts
• Assess patient conditions, develop and update nursing care plans, administer medications, and evaluate treatment outcomes
• Monitor patients with cardiac, respiratory, infectious, and renal conditions and promptly communicate changes in status
• Review telemetry strips and complete required clinical documentation in EPIC
• Collaborate with providers, patient care technicians, respiratory therapy, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team
• Educate patients and families about treatment plans, medications, safety, and discharge needs
• Maintain accurate nursing documentation and uphold high standards of patient safety and infection prevention
• Float to other areas only when appropriate to the Registered Nurse's demonstrated level of experience
