Registered Nurse - Medical / Surgical

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for our Medical/Surgical unit specializing in stroke stepdown care. As part of the nursing team, you will provide comprehensive care to patients with a range of conditions, including stroke, altered mental status, renal issues, and pulmonary diseases.

Unit Information

Unit: Medical/Surgical Stroke Stepdown

Patient Demographics: Adults

Number of Beds in the Unit: 64
Common Diagnoses: Stroke, altered mental status, renal issues, COPD, CHF, isolation, general med-surg cases, pneumonia, and other pulmonary issues.
Specialty Equipment: IV pumps, N/G tubes, feeding tubes

Shift Information

Shift: 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM

Floating Required: Yes

Scrub Color: Navy Blue

Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years of experience in Medical/Surgical nursing with stroke stepdown experience
Current AHA BLS Certification
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification (can be obtained prior to start)
Active NY RN License and all active RN licenses
Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR), specifically EPIC
