Job Summary:
Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Medical Surgical (MS) at a healthcare facility in Wausau, Wisconsin. This 13-week contract offers night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with guaranteed hours. The role involves providing inpatient general medical and surgical patient care, with float coverage across all inpatient units as needed. The position requires strong clinical skills, adaptability, and the ability to collaborate effectively within a dynamic team environment.
Job Details:

- Shift Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 48 hours per week
- Start Date: 08/24/2026
- Required Qualifications: Wisconsin RN License, BLS certification (AHA or ARC), minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, trauma level II experience highly preferred, EPIC charting skills
- Preferred Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in Nursing
- Float: Float rotation may be required to all inpatient units as needed
- On Call/Call Back Requirements: The contract is eligible for 36 hours of low census unbillable hours, which can be worked in hour increments; this is not considered on call
- Weekend/Holiday Requirements: Every other weekend and every other holiday
- Unit Information: Medical and Pediatrics units; most frequent diagnoses include respiratory illnesses, stroke, neurological conditions, gastrointestinal illnesses, diabetic management, renal failure, urinary tract disorders, sepsis, wound care, clotting disorders, infectious diseases, and alcohol withdrawal. Typical patient ratios on nights are 1:6-7.
- Desired Skillset: Hard-working, resilient, adaptable to change, independent, team-oriented, positive attitude, flexible to shift changes, willing to collaborate, and capable of managing tasks efficiently.

- Additional Information: During flu season, declined flu and COVID vaccinations require mask-wearing at all times, per facility policy.
- Education: Associate Degree or Certificate required; Bachelors Degree preferred.
