Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift position requiring 2 years of experience and a TN or compact RN license.

Details

  • Medical Surgical unit in a hospital setting
  • Night shift schedule (4x12 hours, 18:30-07:00)
  • Schedule options include 36/36, 36/48, or 48/48
  • 1:7 patient ratio when floated to MS
  • Floating required
  • No on-call requirements
  • Epic charting system preferred

Requirements

  • Active TN or compact RN license required
  • Minimum 2 years of experience required
  • AHA BLS and NIHSS certifications required
  • AHA certification is the only accepted form for BLS/ACLS
  • Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood product administration required
  • Skills in chest tube management, HFNC, oxygen administration, and tracheostomy care required
  • Experience with colostomy/ileostomy and feeding tube management required
  • Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and telemetry required
  • Experience with wound care and isolation precautions/PPE required
  • Experience in MS/Tele settings and renal failure/hemodialysis management required
  • Experience with surgical drains and total joint replacement care required

Additional Information

  • Provide direct nursing care across a broad range of medical-surgical specialties
  • Participate in nursing student support and clinical education alongside clinical care duties
  • General orientation begins on Sundays with online coursework
  • Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility's service area (no local candidates accepted)
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Facial hair must be trimmed or removed to meet CDC fit-testing guidelines
