TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Float Med Surg / Telemetry for a travel nursing job in Appleton, Wisconsin.

Unit: Med/Surg Float Pool
 

Requirements

  • 3+ years of RN experience, including 2+ years of Med/Surg
  • At least one travel contract strongly preferred
  • Wisconsin RN license, AHA BLS and NIHSS required; AHA ACLS preferred
  • Epic experience within the past year required
  • Comfortable floating between units and facilities; adaptable and collaborative

Patient care and floating

  • Patients: Medical/surgical, oncology, renal, CIWA, CHF, COPD, stroke, DKA, surgical trauma and orthopedics; pediatric patients are rare
  • Specialty units: May include cardiac care—pre/post heart cath and pacemakers—and neuro care, including stroke, post-TNK and neurosurgery
  • Preferred skills: Pre/post cath care, post-pacemaker care and TR Bands
  • Assignments: Based on staffing needs and limited to the traveler’s skillset
  • Ratios: 1:5–6 on days and nights, with LPN/CNA support based on acuity
