Job Details
- Position Description: The registered nurse is tasked with protecting, promoting, and optimizing patient health and abilities, preventing illness and injury, and alleviating suffering by diagnosing and treating human responses and advocating for individuals and families. The RN is responsible for adherence to all standards of practice and professional development in accordance with the New York State Nurse Practice Act, United Health Services policies, ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, Code of Ethics for Nurses, and the Bill of Patient Rights.
- Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per shift, 36 hours per week, every other weekend, for a duration of 13 weeks.
- Required Qualifications: RN license in New York State, BLS certification from AHA or equivalent, ACLS certification, a graduate of an accredited nursing school, with 5 years of recent RN experience, including experience in a cardiac telemetry or stepdown/intensive care setting.
- Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing, professional certification in a related nursing specialty, relevant skills certification (such as ACLS, PALS, TNCC).
- Additional Information: The RN will care for cardiac telemetry and stepdown patients, including those with TAVR, watchmans, mitral clips, heart catheterizations, and post-operative open heart patients. Experience with cardiac drips and management of related complications is required. The role involves active participation in the nursing shared governance model, continuing education, and integration of current evidence-based practices.
