Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Med/Surg RN with a NM or compact license for a 13-week day shift assignment with a 1:6 patient ratio.

Details

• Medical Surgical unit in a hospital setting
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Day shift, 4x12 hours (6:30 AM - 7:00 PM)
• 36 or 48 hour weekly schedule options
• Required to work 6 weekend shifts within a 6 week period
• Floats to units of equal acuity as needed with brief unit orientation provided

Requirements

• Active RN license (NM or Compact) required, pending license applications accepted if obtained prior to start
• Current BLS certification required; CPI certification preferred
• Minimum 1-2 years of RN experience required
• 24 months of nursing experience required for first-time travelers
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, central line and PICC line management required
• Respiratory care skills including chest tube management, high flow nasal cannula, and oxygen administration required
• Experience with colostomy/ileostomy care, feeding tube management, and wound care/wound vac required
• Medication administration experience with Heparin, Insulin, and PCA required
• Renal and dialysis-related care experience including pre/post hemodialysis management required
• CVA (Cerebrovascular Accident) experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care to a Med/Surg patient population including GI, renal, neurological, and plastics cases
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply with sufficient experience
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this position
• Previous staff members must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
• No travel pairs or groups accepted
• Limited RTO auto-approval, with no RTO permitted during the first week of orientation
• Required to complete onsite orientation modules, with RNs averaging 4-6 hours
