Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg RN for an ortho unit with MS/telemetry overflow, requiring cardiac drip proficiency and a minimum of 1 year experience.

Details

  • Ortho unit with Medical/Surgical and telemetry overflow responsibilities
  • Patient ratios of 1:6-7
  • Day shift schedule, 3x12 or 4x12 hours, 0700-1930
  • Block scheduling may be accommodated
  • Must be proficient in cardiac and vasoactive drip titration including cardizem, tridil, and amiodarone
  • Requires cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and emergency response skills

Requirements

  • Active Alabama or Compact RN license required, pending license applications accepted
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant RN experience required
  • Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS
  • ACLS preferred
  • Experience working in large healthcare facilities required
  • Proficiency in titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips required

Additional Information

  • Provide nursing care across an ortho unit with cardiac drip management for MS/telemetry overflow patients
  • Navy blue scrubs required
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Previous permanent staff are ineligible for travel assignments for 10 years following separation
  • Travelers must take a 6-month break after completing 2 consecutive contracts before returning, with case-by-case exceptions possible
  • Must reside at least 90 miles from the facility, as local candidates will not be accepted
  • Pre-start modules required prior to assignment
