Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a Urology Unit role requiring strong high-acuity experience with 1:6/7 ratios and proficiency with insulin and heparin drips.

Details

  • Urology Unit within a Medical Surgical hospital setting
  • High acuity patient population with 1:6 to 1:7 patient ratios
  • Day shift schedule, 4x12 hours (7:00 AM to 7:00 PM)
  • 36 or 48 hour schedules available with block booking offered (excluding holidays)
  • Every other weekend (EOW) required
  • Peritoneal dialysis experience is a plus but not required

Requirements

  • Active Alabama (AL) or Compact RN license required and in good standing
  • Minimum 2 years of experience required with strong background in high-acuity care
  • Proficiency with insulin and heparin drips required
  • BLS and NIHSS certifications required; ACLS preferred
  • Experience working in large healthcare facilities required
  • Comfortable managing 1:6 or 1:7 patient ratios

Additional Information

  • Provide direct patient care within a high-acuity Urology unit
  • Must reside at least 90 miles from the facility; local candidates will not be accepted
  • COVID-19 vaccination required unless a documented religious or medical exemption is provided
  • Flu shot required unless a documented religious or medical exemption is provided
  • Scrub requirements: all navy, or navy pants with a white top
  • Former permanent staff are not eligible to return as travelers for 10 years after separation
  • Travelers must take a 6-month break after completing 2 consecutive contracts before returning
  • New travelers are welcome to apply
  • This is a Do Not Call facility
