Job Summary
Medical Surgical Nurse (MS) Nights The organization is seeking a dedicated Medical Surgical Nurse for a night shift position. This role involves providing patient care on an acute care unit with a diverse patient population, including those with diagnoses such as sepsis, CHF, pulmonary embolisms, and post-procedural care. The position offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic healthcare environment committed to quality patient outcomes.
Job Details
- Certifications: BLS Certification; Illinois RN licensure.
- Education Requirements: Active Illinois license or confirmation that the application process has been initiated.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of relevant medical surgical nursing experience.
- Location Requirements: Candidates must have a current Illinois RN license or be in the process of obtaining one.
- Years of Experience: 1 year minimum.
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Additional Information: Unit handles a wide range of diagnoses including GI bleeds, sepsis, cellulitis, CHF, COVID, osteomyelitis, DVT, pulmonary embolisms, and other medical conditions. RNs are expected to titrate heparin drips and read telemetry strips. There is 24-hour charge RN coverage, crisis RN support, and administrative supervision available. Nurses will receive two shifts of orientation. Floating to other medical-surgical units may be required, and scrubs are to be provided by staff in any color.
- Submission Requirements: Last four digits of SSN, active IL license, confirmation of application process, and understanding of drug-free campus policy are required for submission.
