Job Summary
Medical-Surgical Floor Sioux City, Iowa. This position supports patient care as part of an interdisciplinary team in a Level 3 Trauma Center. The role requires expertise in medical-surgical and telemetry care, including telemetry interpretation and management of specified intravenous medications.
Job Details
- Schedule: Night shift; 12-hour shifts; minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of medical-surgical/telemetry experience.
- Active Iowa or compact nursing license.
- Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; American Heart Association (AHA) preferred, with American Red Cross or United States military certificates accepted.
- Active Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification; American Heart Association (AHA) preferred, with American Red Cross or United States military certificates accepted.
- Active National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
- Experience with heparin, patient-controlled analgesia, epidurals, Cardizem, nitroglycerin, and amiodarone infusions.
- Ability to read and measure telemetry strips.
- Additional Information: The position involves contributing professional and clinical knowledge to the provision and management of patient care. The role may include caring for patients requiring telemetry monitoring and the management of specialized intravenous therapies. Every-other-weekend coverage is required, and holiday coverage may be required.
