Job Requirements

• Active Indiana RN license or compact RN license
• BLS certification through the AHA
• At least 1.5 years of Level I, Level II, or tertiary care experience
• At least 1 year of experience in a large hospital setting (450+ beds)
• Experience with Med/Surg patient populations and acute care workflows
• Comfortable using Epic or similar electronic health record systems
• Ability to work 3 weekend shifts in a 4-week period

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive medical-surgical nursing care for a varied patient population
• Perform patient assessments, care planning, and ongoing monitoring in an acute care setting
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to support safe, effective patient outcomes
• Administer and manage IV therapy, heparin drips, insulin drips, and other ordered treatments
• Use equipment and tools such as IV pumps, feeding pumps, wound vacs, telemetry, and blood glucose monitoring systems
• Care for patients with conditions including COPD, diabetes, CHF, sepsis, pneumonia, stroke, dementia, and post-procedure needs
• Float to other medical units as needed based on patient care demands
• Document accurately in Epic and maintain strong clinical communication throughout the shift
