Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a 37-bed surgical unit requiring 2 years of experience and an active MN RN license.

Details

• 37-bed surgical unit that also accepts overflow medicine patients
• Patient ratio of 4 patients per RN during day/evening hours and 5-6 patients per RN during overnight hours
• Day shift (3x12, 7:00-19:30) and night shift (3x12, 19:00-7:30) schedules available
• Weekend rotation required every 3rd weekend
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital as needed
• Uses Epic (Excellian) EMR system

Requirements

• Active MN RN license required, pending license accepted
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience required
• Epic/Excellian charting experience required
• Experience with GI, respiratory, IV therapy, genitourinary/renal care, and wound care preferred
• Skills in bariatric surgery care, bowel obstruction management, ostomy care, and tracheostomy management preferred
• Experience with chest tubes, BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and oxygen administration preferred
• Central line blood draws and PICC line management experience preferred
• Experience with Heparin and PCA medication administration preferred
• Wound care/wound vac and surgical drain management experience preferred
• 1 supervisor reference required for consideration
• Date of birth, SSN, and certification copies required for consideration

Additional Information

• Located within a teaching hospital with Level 3 trauma designation
• Provide care for medical surgical and plastics patient populations
• Must reside at least 100 miles from the facility to be considered, with no local candidates accepted
• Former Allina perm staff must have a 3-month gap since their last worked shift to be eligible
• RTO requests should ideally not exceed 5 days
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Facility does not provide references to travelers post-assignment or to former perm employees
• Pre-start modules required prior to starting the assignment
