Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg unit position requiring 2 years of experience and a TN or compact RN license.

Details

• Medical Surgical unit setting with MS/Tele and telemetry patients
• 1:6-7 patient ratios
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (18:30-7:00) on a 36/36 schedule
• Floating required
• No call requirements
• Epic charting system preferred

Requirements

• Active TN or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• AHA BLS certification required (ACLS preferred); AHA certification is the only accepted form
• Experience with telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation/management preferred
• Experience with rapid response/code teams preferred
• Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and central/peripheral line care
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, HFNC, and tracheostomy management preferred
• Wound care/wound vac and isolation precaution/PPE knowledge
• Surgical drain and total joint replacement experience preferred
• Relias EKG testing required within 72 hours of signing, with a maximum of two attempts
• Drug test must be completed 12-14 calendar days prior to start
• Facial hair must be trimmed or removed to meet CDC fit testing guidelines

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care to medical-surgical and telemetry patients including cardiac monitoring and emergency response
• Support nursing student clinical education alongside standard patient care duties
• General orientation begins on Sundays with online CBLs and non-billable modules (4-5 hours average)
• Facility may cancel one shift biweekly without penalty due to census changes
• Must reside 100+ miles from the facility's service area; local candidates not accepted
• First-time travelers are not preferred for this role
• Only one submission allowed per candidate within the health system
