Job Summary
Medical Surgical Nurse (MS) located in the medical surgical floor. This role involves providing comprehensive patient care for surgical patients with a focus on telemetry monitoring and cardiac care. The position requires acute telemetry experience and an ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification upon hire.
Job Details
- Required Qualifications: Current Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) License; ACLS certification upon hire; minimum of 1 year of medical-surgical experience; acute telemetry experience required; MOAB (Medications Orientation and Administration for Biomedical) class required within 60 days of hire; shift schedule is evenings, 8 hours per shift, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with cardiac patient care and telemetry monitoring.
- Responsibilities: Provides patient-centered care in accordance with standards of care, protocols, and policies. Performs patient assessments, administers medications, interprets cardiac rhythms, and documents all care activities accurately. Collaborates with the healthcare team during multidisciplinary rounds, monitors laboratory and diagnostic results, and responds appropriately to life-threatening situations. Assists with patient discharge planning, education, and pain management. Maintains and troubleshoots medical equipment related to cardiac and surgical care.
