Med/Surg Registered Nurse travel contract in Columbus, OH 43210, a welcoming and vibrant city in central Ohio. Join a collaborative healthcare team for a 13-week Med Surg nursing assignment caring for adult and geriatric patients in a fast-paced hospital setting.

- Floating: May be required to float to different units within the organization as needed
- Patient Ratio: 1:4 on days, nights, and weekends
- Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics
Job Requirements
- Active Ohio RN license or compact license in hand at time of submission
- Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg RN experience required; 2 years preferred
- BLS certification required
- IV certification required
- EPIC EMR experience preferred
- Experience with IV starts, medication administration, vital sign monitoring, and patient education
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and multitasking skills
- Education from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program
- Two professional references required, including at least one manager, director, supervisor, or Charge RN
- Candidate must be able to complete Ohio fingerprinting requirements promptly after booking
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, high-quality bedside nursing care to Med/Surg patients
- Start and maintain IVs, administer medications, and monitor patient responses
- Assess and document patient vitals, symptoms, and changes in condition
- Educate patients and families on treatments, discharge needs, and self-care
- Collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary care team to support patient plans
- Use EPIC EMR for accurate charting and communication
- Float to lower acuity units within the organization when needed
- Follow hospital policies, infection control practices, and patient safety standards
- Support a busy general medicine unit caring for patients with diverse and complex conditions
